Elevate your White Cove ritual with the comforting sound of a miniature hearth. Our Premium Wooden Wicks are designed to pair perfectly with our refillable pearled wax, providing a wider flame and a gentle, soothing crackle as they burn.

The Wooden Wick Ritual: Unlike cotton, wooden wicks thrive when kept short. Press the metal holder into your candle sand, nestle the wick inside, and trim it so only 3–5mm sits above the wax line. Light evenly across the wood and enjoy the calming crackle.

Tip: For the cleanest burn, always pinch off the charred edge or use a wick cutter before relighting.

The ritual — how it works

Pour the pearled wax sand into any heat-safe jar, mug or bowl and gently level. Set a wick in the centre, anchor it, and trim to about 5mm. Light, and let it glow. Once cool, lift out the used wick and top up the sand — same vessel, next evening.

Adding scent

The sand arrives unscented by design — though most kits include a perfectly paired essential oil to start you off. Add a few drops to the cool sand and let it absorb before lighting. Never add oil while the candle is lit or still warm. Oils are for aromatic use only — keep away from children and pets, and follow the label on each bottle.

Care & safety

Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep away from children, pets and drafts, and burn on a heat-resistant, level surface. Leave at least 10cm between burning candles. Stop use when the metal wick tab becomes visible.

How long does it burn?

Up to 170+ hours of gentle light, depending on your vessel, wick and how you burn. And because you top up the sand rather than throw a jar away, the same vessel keeps going for as long as you do. Refills from £9.99.

What is candle sand made from?

A pearled, vegetable-oil-based wax. Completely paraffin-free.

Is it scented?

It arrives unscented by design. Add a few drops of essential oil to the cool sand before lighting — and change the scent whenever you like.

Which vessels can I use?

Any heat-safe jar, mug or bowl — thick glass, ceramic or stoneware. Place it on a heat-resistant, level surface, away from drafts.

What if it gets knocked over?

The loose sand disperses and the flame self-extinguishes — no pool of hot wax. Sweep up the unlit pearls and pour them straight back. As with any candle, never leave it burning unattended.
