Pour

Fill any heat-safe jar, mug or bowl with pearled wax sand and gently level.

Wick & light

Set a wick in the centre, anchor it, and trim to about 5mm. Light it. That's it.

Refresh

Once cool, lift out the used wick and top up the sand. Same vessel, next evening.

Questions, answered

Which vessels can I use?

Any heat-safe, non-flammable vessel — a thick glass jar, ceramic mug, or stoneware bowl. Always place it on a heat-resistant, level surface away from drafts.

How do I add scent?

Add a few drops of essential oil to the sand and let it absorb before lighting. Never add oil while the candle is lit or still warm. Oils are for aromatic use only — follow the label on each bottle.

How long does it burn?

Candle sand is long-burning — up to 170+ hours, depending on your vessel, wick and how you burn it. Because you top it up, the honest answer is: as long as you keep the ritual going.

Is it safe?

If it's knocked over, the loose sand smothers the flame and self-extinguishes — no pool of hot wax. The usual candle rules still apply: never leave it burning unattended, keep away from children, pets and drafts, and stop use when the metal wick tab becomes visible.
